October Meeting Agenda

Agenda for October Meeting.

Dear Residents,

Please be reminded of our monthly meeting tomorrow Mon 09 Oct 7-9pm at Prince Henry Centre.  Agenda and minutes of the previous meeting can be found on our meetings page.

It will be our first post Council Election meeting tomorrow.  Appropriately the first item on the agenda is a welcome to the councillors elected to represent South Ward, Crs Carlos Da Rocha, Noel D'Souza and Danny Said.  Congratulations, and we extend you our warmest and standing invitation to you to attend and address our precinct meetings.

We will be discussing our Precinct Plan for 2017-2018, Budget 2018-2019 proposals and I will be updating you on developments in relation to the action by Council to remove the Secretary of Kensington West Kingsford (KWK) Precinct.  Precinct executives elected by residents are on notice that they can and will be forcibily removed from office for alleged breach of the Code of Conduct that does not apply to them.

In the light of the assault on the precinct system by Randwick Council, the introduction of Independent Hearing and Assessment Panels (IHAP) by the Berejiklian government that strips councils of control over development application, and considering the Urban Activation Precinct that the community overwhelmingly rejected is now back on the government's agenda by another name, as Priority Precincts (see map of Anzac Parade Corridor), we must think out of the box as to how we should organise ourselves to continue to be effective in protecting our amenities and preserving our heritage.

Hope to see you all at the meeting tomorrow.

Kind regards,

Jayasooriah
Chairperson
